Gävle Konstcentrum

Gävle Konstcentrum is a vibrant meeting place for Swedish and international contemporary art, where ideas and perspectives take shape and challenge. Located in Agnes Kulturhus, we offer an art gallery that presents five unique exhibitions every year. Through close collaborations with artists, curators, and other art institutions, each project becomes an opportunity to encounter new stories and creative expressions.

Our activities extend beyond the gallery. Through engaging art education and a rich program of events, we foster dialogue and deepen understanding of the role of contemporary art in its historical, social, and cultural contexts. For us, contemporary art is about more than just viewing—it’s about understanding, questioning, and reflecting on the times we live in.

Part of Gävle Municipality, we also manage an extensive art collection that is displayed not only in our gallery but throughout the city’s various public spaces. Each year, the collection grows with new acquisitions, ensuring that art remains a visible and integral part of everyday life.
